Find answers about your account, stories, bookshelf, and conversations. Elsewhere is a storytelling app for people aged 18 and older, offering imagined lives to explore and stories to return to.

To help us understand a problem, include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and the steps that led to it. You may include a screenshot after removing private information. Never send passwords or verification codes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get started?

Open Elsewhere and follow the welcome screen to choose an available sign-in option or continue as a guest. If you use Sign in with Apple, complete the authorization with your Apple Account. You must be 18 or older to use Elsewhere.

How do I create a story?

Tap “Start another life,” choose a city, creative, or slower-life theme, and add your title and opening idea. Open the resulting work to explore its three chapters. You can rename a work or revisit it through a new version.

Where can I find my stories and favorites?

Your bookshelf has separate “My stories” and “Saved” sections. Save a favorite to return to it without changing its authorship or adding it to your own creations.

How do stories and conversations work?

Explore stories and fictional characters through life themes, cities, and story excerpts. Choose a character to begin a conversation, or select one of your works to share within a conversation. Starting a chat does not publish your entire bookshelf.

How do I back up or restore my content?

Open Me → Data & backup to export a backup or import one you have previously created. Review the import preview carefully before confirming: restoring a backup replaces the content covered by the import. Keep backup files private and secure.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in, then open Me → Settings → Delete account and follow the confirmation steps. Save anything you want to keep before confirming. If you need help with account deletion or a privacy request, contact our support email.

How do I change app permissions?

Open iOS Settings and select Elsewhere to manage available permissions. Microphone access supports voice recording; camera access supports camera features; optional location access supports location-related features. You can choose whether to grant these permissions.

How do I report a concern or block a character?

Use the Report or Block option where available on a profile or in a conversation. You can also email support with the relevant story or character name and a description of your concern. Do not include unnecessary private information.

Can I switch languages?

Elsewhere supports English and Chinese. Changing the app language keeps your own writing as you entered it.

What should I do if the app is not working?

Check your internet connection, close and reopen the app, and make sure you have installed the latest available version. If the issue continues, contact support with the details listed above.
